For You, Always

For You, Always is a personal iOS app that generates heartfelt, AI-powered messages for your loved one. Your privacy matters deeply. This policy explains what data is collected, how it is used, and your choices.

1. Information We Collect

We collect only what is necessary to deliver the app's features:

Usage data: Streak counts, message history, and favourites are stored locally on your device using AsyncStorage. This data never leaves your device.
Message content: When you request a new message, a prompt is sent to our secure server and forwarded to the Anthropic Claude API to generate a response. No personally identifying information is included in this request.
Push notification preferences: If you enable daily reminders, the app stores your notification schedule locally on your device. Notification tokens are managed by Expo's push notification service solely for the purpose of delivering your reminders.

2. How We Use Your Information

To generate personalised romantic messages via the Anthropic Claude API.
To maintain your streak, history, and favourites across sessions.
To send daily reminder notifications at your chosen time (if enabled).

We do not use your data for advertising, analytics, or any purpose beyond operating the app's core features.

3. Data Sharing & Third Parties

We share data only as required to operate the app:

Anthropic: Message prompts are sent to the Anthropic Claude API to generate responses. Anthropic's privacy policy applies to data processed through their API: anthropic.com/privacy.
Expo: Push notification tokens are handled by Expo's notification infrastructure. Expo's privacy policy: expo.dev/privacy.

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with any other third parties.

4. Data Storage & Security

All personal data (streaks, history, favourites, preferences) is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to or stored on our servers. Message prompts are sent over HTTPS and are not logged or retained by our proxy server after a response is returned.

5. Push Notifications

If you opt in to daily reminders, the app will send you one notification per day. You can disable notifications at any time via your iPhone's Settings app under Notifications → For You, Always.

6. Children's Privacy

This app is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

7. Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
